Antenatal Clinic

  • Additional InformationThe midwife clinic is run at the hospital & local health centres for care for our expectant mothers.  Booking into the antenatal clinics no longer requires a GP referral. Instead choose one of the options below:

    Patients can download the 'Mum & Baby' app from Apple Store or Google Play. This gives information and booking procedure for all the NHS maternity units in North West London. (this is the preferred method)

Postnatal

  • Additional InformationPostnatal examinations take place six to eight weeks after the birth.  Patients will be seen by the advanced nurse practitioner.  Appointments may be made at reception.  It is very important, for a new mother’s health, that this check is made.

Childhood Vaccinations

  • Additional InformationIt is very important that all infants and children are protected from potentially fatal illness wherever possible.  The local Health Authority sends out reminders to parents, when the children are due for their immunizations. The schedule of childhood vaccinations can be found in their 'Red Book' or by clicking 'Vaccination Schedule UK' in the menu on the left

Young Person's Clinic

  • Additional InformationAs of the 1st January 2025, there will be changes to the way the Hillingdon School Nursing service will offer enuresis support to children and young people across the borough.

    We will be offering tiered support to families. In the first instance, any family presenting with a need for support should be signposted to our website where they will find up to date information, advice and links to specialist support services e.g. ERIC.

    If self -help measures are unsuccessful, they will be able to self-refer via the website or by contacting the duty school nurse on 01895 891302 for further assessment and invited to attend a group workshop where self-help measures will be provided and families will have the opportunity to discuss management options.

Sexual Health

  • Additional InformationAll women between the ages of twenty five and sixty-four years will automatically be invited to attend surgery for a cervical smear test in line with the national policy for screening.  Tests are taken every three years.  Appointments may be made with the nurse.  Please mention that you are booking for a smear, so that sufficient time may be allowed.

Mental Health

    Talking Therapies and counselling services are suitable for people with problems which have arisen fairly recently.  Feelings of low mood, anxiety, particular fears or problems coping with daily life and relationships, are all suitable for brief focussed talking therapies.

    People seeking help with difficulties other than depression or anxiety, or whose difficulties require more specialist or intensive treatment which cannot be provided in a primary care setting, can be directed to the appropriate specialist or secondary care mental health services.

Menopause

  • Additional InformationLadies who are experiencing some of the unpleasant symptoms of the menopause may discuss these with the doctor/nurse during consultation.

Influenza Vaccination

  • Additional InformationWe offer influenza vaccination annually between October and December.  These are recommended for everyone over the age of sixty-five and for others with chronic chest or heart problems, or diabetes on request. Pneumonia injections are also recommended for above 65year olds.

Travel Vaccinations

  • Additional InformationOur practice nurse is able to give detailed advice on all travel vaccinations and Malaria prevention, as well as general advice for travellers.  Please contact the surgery well before your departure date, to allow plenty of time for the necessary vaccinations to be given. Most vaccinations needs to be given at least 3 weeks before travel, so call up at least 5-6 weeks before you travel.

A blood test form can be requested from reception after which an appointment is made with the nurse. These clinics help to identify life curtailing disease early on so they can be treated in a timely and more effective manner.
