Welcome To Wallasey Medical Centre

Total Triage

We run a total triage system for appointments. This improves efficiency and reduces waiting times. Our online system for requests is called PATCHS. Patients, once triaged, may also be given off-site appointments such as with the Same Day Urgent Care Service, Telephone appointments, ANP appointments or Extended Access Hub appointments (including evenings and weekend).

Pharmacy First

Important: Pharmacy First

Under the new NHS Pharmacy First Scheme, you can visit a Pharmacist to receive advice and treatment for some simple illnesses, instead of visiting your Doctor.  This is to help patients access quicker and more convenient care, including the supply of appropriate medicines for minor illness. Patients can present to their local pharmacy with symptoms potentially associated with any of the following conditions:

  • Uncomplicated urinary tract infections (UTIs) in women (women aged 16 to 64 years)
  • Shingles (aged 18 years and over)
  • Impetigo (aged 1 year and over)
  • Infected insect bites (aged 1 year and over)
  • Sinusitis (aged 12 years and over)
  • Sore throat (aged 5 years and over)
  • Earache  (aged 1 year and over)

Find out more about how pharmacies can help on the NHS website.

If you have children please see the following website for useful health information: Healthier Together
